Kuantan, Malaysia – March 1, 2024 – Tan Aik Meam was appointed as the Managing Director of BASF PETRONAS Chemicals Sdn Bhd, based in Malaysia, effective March 2024. He succeeds Marko Murtonen, who is preparing for a new assignment within the BASF Group.
Tan Aik Meam joined BASF Group in 2005 as Senior Manager, Gas Treatment Asia Pacific at BASF East Asia Regional Headquarters Ltd Hong Kong. Since then, he held various management positions in the portfolio of operations and business management, with delegation to Europe, Singapore and Hong Kong. Most recently, he was the Vice President, Operations Coatings Asia Pacific, BASF East Asia Regional Headquarters Ltd Hong Kong.
Tan Aik Meam holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from Universiti Malaya, bringing a wealth of experience to BASF PETRONAS Chemicals’ leadership.
