Kuantan, September 19, 2017: Dr. Sven Crone has been appointed as Managing Director of BASF PETRONAS Chemicals Sdn Bhd, based in Malaysia, effective September 1, 2017. He succeeds Dr. Stefan F. Beckmann who is preparing for a new assignment within BASF Group.
Dr. Crone, who holds a Doctorate in Chemical Engineering from the University of Dortmund, brings with him a wealth of experience to BASF PETRONAS Chemicals’ leadership. Dr Crone started his career with BASF SE in 2002, as Laboratory Head in the Competence Center for Process Research & Chemical Engineering.
Prior to this appointment, he held various management positions within BASF Group, including global business coordination in Germany and regional marketing in Singapore for the Petrochemicals division, as well as global strategic marketing for Intermediates division in BASF SE. Most recently, he was Vice President, Staff to Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of BASF SE.
