Community Outreach
In reaching out and being relevant to our community, we adopt the pro-active stance, as opposed to mere philanthropic gestures. We find it most rewarding to be present and in working hand in hand with members of the community in our outreach projects.
At BASF PETRONAS Chemicals, we believe that education is the power behind all positive change. In this area, we find the Malay proverb: To mold a bamboo, let it be from its shoot, to have a ring of truth. As such, a large proportion of our community outreach programs centre around education. Most programs involve young children and teenagers. While bringing science, mathematics and environmental education to life, we try hard to make fun the order of the day.
In our preoccupation with education, we however do not ignore the other important community issues such as environmental conservation, social and health concerns.
